Hacker Paradise Code of Conduct
Hacker Paradise is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, nationality, age, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment in any form. Participants violating these community standards, including through consistent negative behavior, may be expelled from the Hacker Paradise program (without a refund) and any other Hacker Paradise events or forums at the discretion of the Hacker Paradise organization.
Harassment and Community Behavior
Harassment includes, but is not limited to, verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion; sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation; stalking; following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention.
If a participant is repeatedly reported on by other participants for harassment or consistently behaves negatively or rudely towards other Hacker Paradise participants, Hacker Paradise or local partner staff, this behavior may also be grounds for expulsion. Participants asked to stop any harassing or disruptive behavior are expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in harassing or negative behavior, Hacker Paradise facilitators will take actions they deem appropriate, including issuing a warning or expelling the offender from the Hacker Paradise program, Hacker Paradise housing and workspace, Hacker Paradise current and/or future events, as well as online forums such as the Hacker Paradise Members and Trip Slack space.
