Osaka Highlights
Just a few reasons you'll fall for this destination
Catch a bullet train
When the journey is just as cool as the destination, we call that a win! The bullet train, or “Shinkansen”, is a passenger train in Japan, operating on a high-speed railway network. Reaching speeds of 200 miles per hour, the train offers a unique and efficient travel experience. Want to go to Osaka for dinner? No problem, you'll be there in 12 min. How about a day trip to Hiroshima? Easy — 90min!
Japan's Spiritual Heart
Home to the Japanese Emperor, and known as the country’s principal cultural center for almost 1,100 years, Kyoto is steeped in cultural wonder! Take a stroll through the iconic the Fushimi-Inari Taisha Shrine or take your pick of over 2000 ornate temples to explore. Having been the only major city in Japan to avoid the destruction of WWII, Kyoto offers a unique authenticity and unmarked atmosphere of the past.
Mount Fuji
While a bit of a trek, at least a 5-hour combination of trains and buses from Osaka, the awe-inspiring beauty of Mt. Fuji is an unmissable sight. Prebooking is essential for those looking to hike, but just laying eyes on this iconic symbol of Japan is worth every second spent planning. Its serene beauty and the challenge of the climb make it a pinnacle of any trip to Japan!
Food Capital
Dive into the heart of Japan's food capital, Osaka. Known as the nation's kitchen, this vibrant city is a paradise for food lovers. From tantalizing street food in Dotonbori to exquisite sushi that melts in your mouth, Osaka's culinary scene is unmatched. Prepare your taste buds for a journey through the flavors that define Japanese cuisine.
Nara's Bowing Deer
A short trip from Osaka, Nara awaits with its gentle, bowing deer, a sight that captures the hearts of everyone who visits. Roaming freely in Nara Park, these friendly creatures bow to visitors in hopes of receiving a snack, offering a magical, interactive experience that connects you with the tranquility of nature.
Shinsekai
Experience the nostalgic allure of Shinsekai, a district that evokes the vibrant atmosphere of a bygone era. Centered around Tsutenkaku Tower, this lively area is filled with vintage shops, old-school gaming parlors, and kushikatsu bars serving delicious skewered delicacies. Created in 1912, with New York as a model for its southern half and Paris as the model for its northern half, this neighborhood is not to be missed.
